Me Into Us

“Me Into Us” is an archival LP release that was mostly recorded in 2013-14, but never completed until recently. This batch of songs were a prequel to Mike & the Y-Tones and feature Mike Yesconis with Daniel Bower on Drums (the last drums tracks recorded at the Moonlight Forest).

About this Record

Back in 2013, I started recording a new batch of songs in my home studio, but these felt different, like I was tapping into something new I hadn’t explored before.  I was now finally writing in my own voice, processing the changes and struggles of life.  I began recognizing that my parents were aging, and that I was aging…at some point there would be a massive shift in what I’ve always known as normal.

Many of these songs became anthems to help me through major changes and transitions that I was dealing with at the time, while other songs are snapshots of memories that have been put into a musical format (sometimes you need more than just the photograph).  Then, there were the observations and ponderings of the human condition that got carved out into artistic shields of sorts; battling desires, situations and existential threats, perceived and/or real for my own benefit.  This is when I realized the power of song to battle emotions and provide freedom…and it didn’t matter if the song was short, it didn’t have to be “fully realized” and it did not have to make sense to others as long as it made sense to me.

I am excited to share these songs with you and I can only hope that you find something here that helps you on your journey.  -Mike, August 2025
